Robert Amundsen Mr. Hershel Asher was born on October 20, 1939 and departed this life on December 15, 2009 at the Mary Breckenridge Hospital at the age of 70 years old. Hershel was the son of the late Caleb & Susie Sizemore Asher. He was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a retired coal miner being employed by Blue Diamond Coal Co. & Shamrock. He was affiliated with the Dryhill Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. Hershel was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Darrell D. Asher. He leaves the following relatives surviving: wife: Fannie Mae Sizemore Asher of Hyden, KY.; son: Hershel Dean Asher & Jan of Dryhill, KY.; daughters: Tronda Carol Napier & Marshall of Hyden, KY., Sandra Faye Lewis & Randy of Hyden, KY. and Reba Joyce Hoskins & Homer of Burnside, KY.; brothers: Donald Asher & Opal of Hyden, KY. and Billy Ray Asher of IN.; sisters: Nancy Alene Sizemore of Paintsville, KY., Dee Asher of London, KY. and Maxie Asher of Paintsville, KY.; sister-in-law: Carolyn Asher of Hyden, KY.; grandchildren: Dustin Ray Asher, Randall Lee Lewis II, Samantha Joyce Hoskins, Ashley Nichole Asher, Cody Dean Hoskins and Kyle Chaning Lewis. Funeral services for Mr. Hershel Asher will be conducted on Friday - December 18, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the funeral at the Hershel Asher Family Cemetery at Dryhill, KY with full military honors performed by the Leslie Co., D.A.V. Chapter # 133. Friends may call for visitation from 6-9 P.M. - Thursday - December 17, 2009 at the funeral home.
