Mrs. Christine Griffie Stewart was born on February 17, 1951 and departed this life on March 4, 2009 at the age of 58 years. She was the daughter of the late Earl Griffie and Martha Jones Griffie. By occupation she was a nurses assistant. Some of her hobbies included being with family and grandchildren, as well as cooking. She was preceded in death by her father: Earl Griffie; and brother: Johnny Griffie. She leaves surviving the following relatives: mother: Martha Griffie of Hyden, KY; husband: Ronnie Stewart of Dallas, GA; one son: Charlie Stewart & Peggy of Ball Ground, GA; three daughters: Pam Crumley & Hoody of Dallas, GA, Teresa Parmer & Edward of Jasper, GA, and Sherry Davidson & Sonny of Hyden, KY; one brother: Len Richard Griffie of Big Creek, KY; six sisters: Donna Gilbert & Glenn of Hyden, KY, Annette Jones & Kenneth of Big Branch, KY, Pat Cheek & Steve of McDoungh, GA, Carol Cobb & Larry of McDoungh, GA, Mary Hill of GA, and Gail Jackson of Manchester, KY; nine grandchildren: Preston Davidson, Stephen Davidson, Marissa Davidson, Corey Crumley,Clint Crumley, Austin Parmer, Stephanie Stewart, Ashley Stewart, and Addison Stewart. A host of other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Griffie Stewart will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the funeral home, as well as all day Friday, March 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Jones Cemetery in Hyden, KY following the service under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff.
