The Obituary for Mr. Ellis DeHart Officiating Minister: Minister Manis Roberts Mr. Ellis DeHart was born on September 17, 1931, in Slemp, Ky., the son of the late Caleb & Pearlie Halcomb DeHart. He passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. at the age of 80 years, 4 months & 22 days. Ellis was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed gardening & sports, he was an avid U.K. fan. Ellis DeHart was preceded in death by his parents: Caleb & Pearlie Halcomb DeHart, one son: James DeHart, three brothers: Chester, Cress & Harrison & one sister: Evalee Gillim He leaves the following relatives surviving: his wife: Sylvia DeHart of Wooton, KY., one son: Wade DeHart of Wooton, KY., two daughters: Carla Hoskins & Russell of Wooton, KY. & Charlotte Charles & Rick of North Carolina, one brother: Delmer DeHart & Vickie of Slemp, KY.(also a host of other brothers & sisters), six grandchildren: Tia Coots & Toy, Ami Hoskins, Russell Hoskins, Gary DeHart, Patricia DeHart & Thomas Martin & two great-grandchildren: Shayla Coots & Savannah DeHart, also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Manis Roberts officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133. The following will serve as pallbearers: Kenny Adams, Steve Adams, Gary DeHart, Toy Coots, Shane Woods, Tommy Martin, Russell Hoskins & Willard Watts.
