Kenneth Cook Mrs. Josephine Simpson Amos was born on July 5, 1943 in Hyden, KY. and departed this life on Saturday ~ December 10, 2011 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center of Knoxville, TN. She was 68 years of age at the time of her passing. Josephine was the Daughter of the late Joe Simpson and the late Polly Bowling Simpson and the Wife of the late Roger Kenneth Amos. By occupation Josephine was a Homemaker and was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. She enjoyed fishing and loved her dog Dixie. She was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very active in the Stinnett Community Center and was a Member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God. She was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Joe & Polly Bowling Simpson; Husband: Roger Kenneth Amos; Son: Ford Allen Amos; Daughter: Ann Lorraine Amos; Brothers: Billy Simpson, Ford Simpson and Eugene Simpson; Son-In-Law: Ronnie Maggard. Mrs. Josephine Simpson Amos leaves the following relatives surviving: Daughter: Patricia Sue Maggard of Asher, KY; Brothers: Donald Simpson of Asher, KY. and Billy Joe Baker of TN.; Sisters: Jewell Dean Morgan & Billy Don of Essie, KY., Betty Joyce Burkhart & Hurston of Illinois and Rozella Morgan & Willie Garrett of London, KY.; Grandchildren: Rev. Marvin Charles Amos & Hannah, Lola Amanda Maggard, Paige Lorraine Maggard; Great Grandchildren: Kaden Ford Amos and Kenzie Arabella Amos; Beloved Dog: Dixie. Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Simpson Amos will be conducted on Tuesday ~ Dec. 13, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Gap Church of God with Rev. Charles Hensley, Rev. Willie Garrett Morgan, Rev. Marvin C. Amos, Rev. Vernon Willard and Rev. Kenneth Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Hoskins Cemetery at (Bad Creek) Asher, KY.
