Adelene Mattingly Lewis

Mrs. Adelene Mattingly Lewis age 94 of London, formerly of Hyden, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital. Adelene was born on May 27, 1927 at Stinnett, KY the daughter of the late Allen Denver Mattingly and the late Oma Pace Mattingly. She attended the University of Kentucky.  Adelene was vice-president of the Leslie Co. Telephone Co. She was a former resident of Leslie county before moving to Laurel county and living there for 30 years. Adelene  was a member of the Hyden Baptist church, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and spending her vacations at New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Adelene is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband: John Hart Lewis, Jr., one infant daughter: Vickie Lee, three brothers: Edward, Ernest R. and William Denver Mattingly.  She is survived by her three cherished daughters, Sherri Carol Lewis Edwards of London, KY, Janine Hart Lewis Turner (Monty) of London, KY and Lori Susan Lewis of London, KY, one sister, Ronnie Carol Stewart (Eugene) of Hyden, KY, seven cherished grandchildren: Donald Ray Morgan, John Houston Morgan (Melissa), Ryan Chase Morgan, Brent Allen Turner (Tom Willis), Brandon Monty Turner (Andrea), Amber Hart Boroviak (Shawn) and Alexis Paige McWhorter (Chase), six beloved great grandchildren: Madison Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Hadley Boroviak, Cooper Boroviak, Tucker Boroviak and Waverley Turner. Adelene is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
