Albin Richard Wilson, a dedicated coal miner and a proud Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away on April 4, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. Born on January 16, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, Albin led a life marked by hard work, passion, and a commitment to his family.

Throughout his career as a coal miner, Albin was known for his steadfast dedication and resilience, traits that earned him the respect of his colleagues and the community. His service in the military during the Vietnam War exemplified his bravery and love for his country, which he carried with him throughout his life.

Albin had a zest for life that extended beyond his professional endeavors. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, relishing the sense of freedom it brought him. In his downtime, he found solace in the great outdoors through fishing and hunting, while target practicing and his fondness for guns reflected his love for precision and skill.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his former wives and mother of his sons, Phyllis Wilson, and Renee Annette Whitehead. He is survived by his beloved sons, Hunter Wilson, Christopher Helton (Angela), and Aaron Wilson (Misty), and his daughter, Sylvia Day (Jerry). Albin cherished his close relationships with his brothers, Rev. Stephen Wilson, Timothy C. Wilson (Teresa), and Paul Wilson, and he took great pride in being a grandparent to Mirelle Wilson. Additionally, a host of other relatives and friends will carry forward his memory and legacy.

Albin was preceded in death by his parents, Albin Wilson and Martha Lewis Wilson, and his sister, Willa Ruth Wilson. As we remember Albin Richard Wilson, we honor the life he lived, the values he upheld, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
