THE OBITUARY OF MR. ALEXANDER ROSS
Mr. Alexander Ross passed away on April 24, 2022 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center, Hazard, Ky., at the age of 78 years old. He was born on June 25, 1943 in Knox County, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Lillian Gibbons Ross. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served honorably from 1961-1964. By profession he was a retired truck driver. He had transported many things including watermelons, fuel and ATV's. He spent most of his career driving a car hauler from state to state. He was a real people person & during his travels he met many people and made many new friends. His greatest joy came from spending time outdoors with family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but also loved to sit on the porch and share stories and jokes with anyone who stopped to visit. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church, where he enjoyed attending. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Marie Burkhart Ross, the mother of his children, five brothers; Wesley, Willie, Robert, George and Frank Ross, four sisters; Beatrice Mooneyham, Ruby Frances Patterson, Shirley Ross, Mary Smith, one granddaughter; Tabitha and special aunts Lula Perry & Glady Baird. Mr. Alexander Ross leaves the following relatives surviving: two daughters, Tina Caldwell and Larry of Hyden, Ky., Melissa Ross of Barbourville, Ky., two sons, Timothy Ross of Yeaddiss, Ky., Michael Ross and Valerie of Corbin, Ky., six grandchildren, Samantha, Cody, Brandy, John-Gabriel, Jacob, Emily Nicole and a host of other family and friends who will cherish his memory. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend a special, heart-felt thanks to the staff of the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center for their excellent care and comfort they provided to Alex and his family.
