Mr. Billy Joe Dixon passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Well's Hospice Center in Hazard, KY. He was 74 years old. Billy Joe was born September 6, 1947 in Leslie Co., KY the son of the late, Raleigh Dixon & Nannie Napier Dixon. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. Billy Joe was a retired coal miner and served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. He was affiliated with the Anna C. Brush Memorial Presbyterian Church at Dryhill, KY. Billy Joe enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren & great granddaughter, yard work & gardening.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raleigh & Nannie Napier Dixon, loving & devoted wife, Mary Day Dixon, cherished daughter; Joy Heather Dixon & sister, Laura Sue Clark. He leaves the following relatives surviving; two beloved sons, Joey Dixon & Tychennia Davidson, Smilax, KY and Robbie Dixon, Smilax, KY, one beloved daughter, Tishia Dixon & Johnny Couch, Hyden, KY, three treasured grandchildren, Lindsay Gay & Brandon, Tyler Dixon & Hunter Couch, one treasured great granddaughter, Aspyn Marah Gay & sister, Pam Cornett, Harlan, KY. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.
TIME AND PLACE OF FUNERAL: 2:00 P.M. Sunday-January 23, 2022 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
