Billy Ray Johnson

Billy Ray Johnson, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Well's Hospice Center in Hazard at the age of 69. Billy Ray was born August 19, 1949 in Hyden, KY., the son of the late, Henry Johnson & Eva Howard Johnson. Billy Ray had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he had worked in the stocking dept. at Food Fair & Save-A-Lot in Hyden & a Janitor for Dr. Ratliff. Billy Ray was a devoted member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ a devoted song-leader & lay-minister. He enjoyed watching football & basketball, avid UK fan, playing basketball, playing cards & board games especially monoply with his nieces & nephews.

Billy Ray was preceded in death by, his parents, brothers, John, James, Leamon & Bobby Joe Johnson, infant sisters, Edna Faye & Marcella Johnson, 1 niece, 1 nephew & special brother-in-law, Justus Farley. He leaves the following relatives surviving, 1 beloved sister, Betty Johnson Farley of Hyden, KY., 10 treasured nieces & nephews & a host of great & great great nieces & nephews. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Thursday, June 6, 2019 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Donnie Melton, Roger Bowling & Onzie Sizemore

Interment: Grassy Gap Cemetery, Hyden, KY.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 5, 2019 @ 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
