Blanche Barrett Collett

Mrs. Blanche Barrett Collett was born March 17, 1942 in Hyden, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late, Alex Barrett and the late, Dorothy Shepherd. Blanche passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at her residence. She was 81 years old. Blanche had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation Blanche retired from the Hyden Health & Rehab Center in Hyden, KY.  She was the Dept. Head of laundry, housekeeping, maintenance & over the wastewater there.  Blanche was a member of the Jacks Creek United Methodist Church at Roark, KY. Blanche enjoyed quilting, sewing, vegetable & flower gardening & cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved parents, loving & devoted husband, Mr. Carl Collett whom she married on June 8, 1959 and two sisters, Laura Belk and Elizabeth Mitchell. Blanche leaves the following relatives surviving, one cherished son, Carl Edward Collett (Regina), Roark, KY, two cherished daughters, Carla Whitaker(Tim), Essie, KY and Heather Fultz (Chad), Manchester, KY, two brothers, Ulysses Barrett (Joan), Essie, KY and Johnny Roark, Roark, KY, ten treasured grandchildren, Cynthia Collett Jackson(Bo), Ashley Whitehead (Ricky), Tiffany Whitaker, Jacob Whitaker, Baylee Whitaker, Whitney Bowling (Brit), Keeley Grace Sizemore, Carly Fultz, Jason Fultz and Kaitlyn Fultz and five treasured great grandchildren, Marilyn Coleman, Adyson Whitehead, Alyson Whitehead, Daizee Whitaker and Harper Marcell. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends surivive.

Funeral: Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY.

Minister: Rev. David Gross

Interment: Carl Collett Family Cemetery, Roark, KY.

Pallbearers: Jacob Whitaker, Jason Fultz, Ricky Whitehead and Chad Fultz
