Bobby Sizemore, a beloved member of the community, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2024 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky at the age of 84. Bobby was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on June 27, 1939, the son of the late Oscar Sizemore and Flora Miller Couch. Bobby led an exceptional career as a strip-miner in the coal industry. His dedication and hard work were truly admirable and respected by his coworkers.
One of Bobby's greatest joys in life was his family. He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to always make others feel comfortable and at ease around him. His family meant everything to him, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he cherished dearly.
In addition to his remarkable career and devotion to family, Bobby had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. From attending church to indulging in NASCAR races, restoring vehicles, gardening, and hunting for treasures at yard sales, Bobby had a diverse range of passions that enriched his life.
Bobby's proudest accomplishments revolved around his strong faith and the unwavering support and achievements of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and joy that will be forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bobby is reunited in peace with his parents, Oscar Sizemore & Flora Miller Sizemore, as well as his sisters Alice Sizemore and Sarah Jane Couch. He is survived by his beloved wife, whom he was united in marriage on on May 17, 1957. Annie Couch Sizemore of Hyden, Kentucky; beloved son, Richard Sizemore and wife Geneva; cherished daughters, Lesia Whitaker and husband Mike of Clay City, KY., daughter Mary Lee Nesbitt & husband, Junior of Winchester, Ohio, daughter Sandy Sizemore of Hyden, KY., daughter Baylan Sizemore of Hyden, KY, treasured grandchildren Chassidy & Rodney Sizemore, Tasha & Willie Joe Hollin, Kisha Fouts; Bucker & Kelly Sizemore; Felicia Whitaker; Dakota & Dwayne Brock; treasured great-grandchildren Connor Hollin, Riley Hollin, Peyton Fouts, Brody Fouts, Colton Fouts, Braxton Brock, Ryder Brock; Jenna Sizemore; Abby Sizemore; Aiden Whitaker, Chloe Cornelius & Kinley Cornelius, great-great-grandchild Gabriella Hollin. He is also survived by sisters Thelma Sergant of Louisville Kentucky and Zora Young & Ed of Batavia Ohio, brother Ott Sizemore and wife Rosemary of London Kentucky & "special friends, Jimmy & Betty Sizemore & Pearl "Cold Foot" Sizemore.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Bucker Sizemore, Rodney Sizemore, Johnny Wayne Couch, Sammy Ray Sizemore, Junior Nesbitt, Peyton Fouts, Riley Hollin, and Mike Whitaker. One honorary pallbearer: Jerry Couch.
Friends my call for visitation to honor Bobby's life at the Couch's Fork Church of God in Bear Branch on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 6:00 PM .The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday -March 19 at the Couch's Fork Church of God, Bear Branch, KY at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joey Burns & Rev. Ryan Osborne officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service in the Couch's Fork Cemetery on the Hal Rogers Parkway. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects during these gatherings as we celebrate the blessed life of Bobby Sizemore.
