Bonnie Jean Lewis

Bonnie Jean Lewis born June 16, 1945 departed this life on Monday October 16, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 78-years old.  Bonnie Jean was born in Hyden, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lillie Holley.  Other than her mother, Bonnie was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Darrell Lewis; two sisters, Bernice Couch & her husband Herbert and Daisy Estep; brother, Dorse Holland.  Bonnie loved U.K. sports, working puzzles, flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Bonnie Jean Lewis leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: children, Donnie Lewis & Abbie of Hyden, Charlotte Lewis of Bear Branch, Scott Lewis & Angel of Essie and Dustin Rice & Wanona of London; twelve grandchildren, Hope Lewis, Nelisha Rice, Makeela Rice, Austin Rice, Galen Bowling, Jacob Pennington, James Tayton Lewis, Lyndsie Jordan Lewis, Waylon Ryder Lewis, Scott Nantz, Candie Nantz, and Ginger Nantz; four great-grandchildren, Amira, Bobbie, Breanna, and Kamryn; great-great-grandchild, Raina; special friends, Connie Couch, Jennifer Foster and Audrey Blevins; also a host of special nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Bonnie Jean Lewis will be conducted on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bear Branch Baptist Church at Bear Branch, Kentucky with Logan Wayne Bowling, Randy Woods and James Scott Boggs officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Abe Couch Cemetery located at Hollins Fork, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Bear Branch Baptist Church beginning on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. and continuing all day Friday until funeral hour on Saturday.  Engle-Bowling Funeral Home - Hazard, Kentucky in charge of arrangements!
