Carolyn Sizemore Asher, born on December 21, 1936, peacefully passed away on August 8 2024, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was years old. She was a beloved daughter of Keen and Madge Sizemore, who greet her in the afterlife along with her loving & devoted husband, Darrell Asher, cherished son, Thomas Asher, paternal grandparents, James and Georgiann Woods Sizemore, maternal grandparents, Sherman and Sabrina Combs Begley and her siblings, Mildred, William, Reba, Estill, Monroe, David, Johnie, and Ethel.
In her lifetime, Carolyn was known for her unwavering love and dedication as a homemaker. She had a passion for caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Starting off her career at Johnie Lewis Market and his restaurant in her younger years, Carolyn's hard work and nurturing nature extended beyond her professional life.
Education played a significant role in Carolyn's life, having graduated from Oneida Baptist in Oneida, KY. She valued learning and the opportunities it brought throughout her days.
Carolyn was a member of the Anna C. Brush Memorial Community Church in Dryhill, KY, where her faith and community were central to her being. She found solace and support within her church family, enriching her life with spiritual fulfillment and companionship.
Her hobbies and interests were a reflection of her nurturing character. Carolyn found joy in cooking delicious meals, creating beautiful garments through sewing, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Above all, her greatest happiness stemmed from spending quality time with her loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
In her circle of family and friends, Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is survived by her adoring son, Hershel Dwayne Asher, and daughter-in-law Tonya from Hyden, KY. Her three precious grandchildren, Jackie Asher, Ariana Bray, and Alexia Asher, as well as her two beloved great-grandchildren, Blake Knoles and Jonah Hubbard, will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Among those left to cherish her memory are also her brothers: James Sizemore and his wife Juanita from Homer, MI, and Troy Lee Sizemore from London, KY. Her sisters, Fannie Mae Asher from Dryhill, KY, Nancy Rose and her husband Marvin from Helton, KY, and Emma Lee Keen and her husband David Wayne from Thousandsticks, KY, mourn her passing.
Aunt Carolyn, as she was affectionately known to many, will be dearly missed by countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous cousins and dear friends, including Polly Jean Napier, Mary and Charles Bradley, and Josey Begley who shared in her joys and sorrows throughout her journey.
Carolyn Sizemore Asher's life was a testament to love, family, and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, carrying forward the values of kindness and devotion that she embodied. In her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
