Charles "Gabby" Griffie

Mr. Charles "Gabby" Griffie was born June 13, 1949. He passed away Tuesday, April 27,2021 at the Well's Hospice Center. He was 71 years old. Charles was born June 13, 1949 in Perry County, KY., the son of the late, Jack Griffie & Rosa Bolen Griffie. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he had worked as a brick masonary & a commercial truck driver for Austin Powder. Charles enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, Nascar & especially spending time with his family.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved parents, brothers, Elmer, Jim, Billy & John Henry Griffie and sisters, Linda Carroll, Nora Griffie and Mary Scruggs. He leaves the following relatives surviving; his loving and devoted wife, Charlotte Begley Griffie, Hyden, KY., 2 beloved sons, Billy Griffie and wife, Christy, Stinnett, KY. and John Griffie & wife, Jeannie, Walton, KY., a very special baby girl he raised as his daughter, Lida Collett and her husband, Billy, 1 brother, Willie Peark Griffie & Shirley, Georgia, 1 sister, Lou Winters, Georgia, 4 treasured grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, Logan and Camron and 1 great grandchild on the way. Also a host of other relatives and friends survive. 

Funeral: Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Rev. Geoffery Roberts and Rev. Edmund Barger

Interment: John North Cemetery, Hyden, KY.

Pallbearers: Camron Griffie, Logan Griffie, Hunter Griffie, Chris Sartin, Jack Griffie and Thomas McGraw

Visitation: Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
