Chester Caldwell passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, KY. He was 82 years old. Chester is the son of the late, Sampson Caldwell and the late, Nancy Roark Caldwell. Chester had been a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was an employee for the State Highway Dept. and Leslie County LKLP. Chester was a member of the New Hope Community Church at Warbranch, KY. Chester enjoyed reading his Bible, gardening and especially loved spending time with his family.
Chester was preceded in death by his beloved parents, first wife and mother of his children, Jewell Dean Saylor, cherished son, Barry Caldwell, treasured grandson, Matthew Caldwell, two treasured great great grandsons, Eli & Maddox, three sisters, Mary Belle Caldwell, Myrtle Brock & Susie Taylor and five brothers, Holman, Richmond, Forrester, Sampson Caldwell, Jr. & Wade Caldwell. He leaves the following relatives surviving; loving & devoted wife, Shirley McIntosh, Ohio, one cherished son, Rice Caldwell & Dorothy, Mozelle, KY, two cherished daughters, Shelbie Napier, Mozelle, KY & Scarlett Holland & Joe, Warbranch, KY, four step-daughters, Barbara, Mary, Tammy & Carol, seven treasured grandchildren, Cinda Caldwell, Joetta Collett, Benjamin Napier & Tiffany, Lacey Caldwell, Marcus Holland, Victoria Holland and Grace Holland and a host of great & great grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.
Funeral: Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Hope Community Church, Warbranch, KY.

Interment: Phillips Fork Cemetery, Roark, KY.
Visitation: Friday Dec. 22, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. at the Church
