Rev. Clayton Masters

Rev. Clayton Masters born July 12, 1931 departed this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his residence at East Bernstadt, Ky. He was 88 years old.  Clayton was born at Garrard County, Kentucky , the son of the late John Masters & Zoba Lackey.  Clayton was a retired employee of General Electric and then started a distinguished career as an ordained clergyman and teacher in the 1980's. Rev. Clayton Masters was appointed the pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Warbranch, Ky., in 1984.  This was his first church ministry & and began his dedicated life of devotion to God as a pastor, religious musician & Sunday School teacher Rev. Clayton Masters also served as pastor at the following churches: Twin Branch, Wyatt's Chapel , Campground & Olive Gilead in Laurel Co., Ky.  He also had a  Christian radio ministry which aired in Laurel Co. Clayton was a devoted member & most recently attended  Corinth Baptist Church & served as a Sunday School teacher.  Clayton enjoyed riding horses, playing various musical instruments, singing, reading & studying the Bible.  Clayton's greatest joys were spending time with family & serving God.  He had a sincere, genuine concern & compassion for all members of his congregations & viewed himself as a teacher.  Rev. Clayton Masters was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Rosetta, brother & sister-in-law; Joe & Dorothy Masters & sister & brother-in-law; Lois & J.T. Cobb.    Clayton is survived by his loving & devoted wife, Betty Jean  Caldwell Maggard Masters of East Bernstadt, KY., three beloved sons; Tinsley David Maggard & Stacy of Hyden, Ky., Timothy Dale Maggard & Rhonda Lewis of East Bernstadt, Ky., James Jeffery Maggard & Tina of Richmond, Ky., one cherished sister; Sula Masters of Lexington, Ky., nine treasured grandchildren; Christopher Bige Maggard & Labriska, Destiny Darnell Maggard & Chris, Kayla Renee Maggard Vanover, Kindra Nicole Cox & Clay Andre, Ceara Shaelee Maggard & Jordan, James Cory Maggard, Micah David Maggard, Cameron Kyle Maggard, Charles Alexander Huff & Colette,  8 treasured great grandchildren; Ryan Benta Harris, Dylan Isaiah Harris, Taylen Timothy Cox, Bryson Cole Bige Maggard, Carson Xavier Wilson, Liam Christopher Maggard, Carter Shaelee Wilson, Caleigha Elyse Huff, & a host other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

TIME AND PLACE OF FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 P.M. - Tuesday - March 10, 2020 at the First Alliance Church, 2201 Old Higbee Mill Road, Lexington, Ky.  40514 ( a viewing will be held at 12:00 noon and continue until the funeral hour at 1:00 P.M.
