Cora Johnson

Cora Johnson, born July 14, 1927, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Wells Hospice Center in Hazard at the age of 92. Cora was born in Hyden, KY., the daughter of the late, Brett Baker & Lida Bowling Baker. Cora had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a loving & devoted homemaker. Cora was a charter member of the Hyden Church of God in Hyden, KY. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles & working in her flower garden.

Cora was preceded in death by her beloved parents, loving & devoted husband, Everett Johnnson, beloved infant son, Tester Johnson, beloved son, Kenneth David "Bud" Johnson, brother, Kenneth Baker & sisters, Beulah Sizemore, Jessie Whitehead, Eunice Griffith, Rowena Roberts, Pearlie Showwalter & Dortha Bowling. She leaves the following relatives surviving; one beloved son, Danny Johnson & wife, Phyllis of Smilax KY., one beloved daughter, Deborah Johnson of Hyden, KY.,  one sister: Edna Kemper & Harold of Hyden, KY, two brothers: Sam Baker of Dayton, OH,  and James Baker & Lucille of Dayton, Ky, four treasured grandchildren, Sherry Fugate, Dwayne Johnson, Crystal Philbeck & Kenny Johnson & eight great grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Gavin, Alexis, Jeffery, Colton, Darrin & Christopher. Also a hosts of nieces, nephews other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Wayne Bowling, Clifton Adams & Harry Kemper

Interment: Baker Family Cemetery, (Mason Hollow Road), Stinnett, KY.

Pallbearers: Austin Goins, Dwayne Johnson, Gearld Fugate, Harold Kemper Jr., Harry Kemper & Johnny Kemper
