Doshia Shields

Mrs. Doshia Shields, departed this life on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her residence. Doshia was 78 years old. She was born, September 8, 1942 in Leslie Co., KY. the daughter of the late, Matthew Joseph & Flora Miniard Joseph. She had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. with the exception of living in Hazard since 2004. Doshia was a loving & devoted homemaker. She was a member of the Upper Second Creek Baptist Church, Senior Citizens & the Red Hatter's Club. Doshia enjoyed gardening & especially loved spending time with her children & grandchildren.

Doshia was preceded in death by her parents, her loving & devoted husband, John Henry Shields, treasured granddaughter, Shelly, sisters, Oma Wilson, Gladys Fee & America Cox, brother, John R. Joseph & special friend, Harold Seale. She leaves the following relatives surviving; beloved son, John Glenn Shields & Rose Shields of Hazard, KY., beloved daughters, Peggy Hek & Ben, Lexington, KY., Sharon Shields Smock & Stan, Adair Co., KY. & Sheila Trent & Scottie Shepherd, Yeaddiss, KY., brothers, Eugene Joseph & Marbeth, Yeaddiss, KY. & Wiley Joseph & Bernita, Ohio, sisters, Charlene Colona & Frank, Fl. & Marie Burmett, Harlan, KY., treasured grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Amanda, Adam, Harlee, Taylor & Cody & 8 treasured great grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Minister: Densmore Goodson

Interment: Adams Cemetery, Yeaddiss, KY.

Visitation: Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 1:00 at the Funeral Home
