Mrs. Edith Smith Collett passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Saint Joseph Hospital, London, KY. She was 71 years old. Edith was born September 19, 1952 at Essie, Kentucky the daughter of the late, Troy Smith and the late, Juanita Sizemore Smith. Edith had been a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation Edith retired from the Leslie Co. Board of Education where she was the Finance Officer. Edith was a member of the Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie, Kentucky. She also attended the Roark Pentecostal Church at Roark, Kentucky. Edith enjoyed cooking, she was very talented at making decorative cakes for special occasions such as birthdays & weddings. She also enjoyed attending Church and especially loved spending time with her family especially her treasured grandchildren.
Edith was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Troy & Juanita Sizemore Smith, cherished daughter, Angela Collett Feltner and son-in-law, Douglas Adam Feltner. She leaves the following relatives surviving her loving & devoted husband, Mr. Edmond Collett whom she married July 11, 1969, one cherished daughter, Mary E. "Beth" Collett Hackworth & James Daniel, Essie, Kentucky, two brothers, Wendell Smith & Brenda, Essie, Kentucky and John D. Smith & Brenda Carrol, Essie, Kentucky, three sisters, Kathy Jean Smith, Essie, Kentucky, Joan Feltner & Dennis, Essie, Kentucky and Lois Garrison & John Wayne, Essie, Kentucky, three treasured grandchildren, Harper Quinn, Everly Bronwyn and Leeland Isaac Monroe, special friends & caregiver, Savannah Barrett & Lisa Williams along with a host of treasured nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives & friends survive.
Funeral: Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church, Essie, Kentucky
