Edith Morgan, a beloved soul who touched the hearts of many, passed away on April 5, 2024, at Wells Hospice Care Center-Hazard, KY. She was born on June 22, 1932, in Roark, KY to her loving parents Willie Napier and Miley Roark Napier.
Edith dedicated her life to caring for others as she worked in the maternity unit at Mary Breckinridge Hospital, providing comfort and support to mothers and their newborn babies. Her compassion and nurturing nature shone brightly through her work. Outside of her career, Edith found joy in simple pleasures such as gardening, sewing, cooking, canning, and most of all, spending quality time with her family. Her hobbies reflected her gentle and loving personality, described by many who knew her as a kind-hearted individual.
Throughout her life, Edith was deeply involved in her community as a proud member of Lower Bowen's Creek United Methodist Church and Stinnett Pentecostal Church. She remained a loyal resident of Leslie County, KY, where she made lasting connections with those around her.
Edith is now reunited with her beloved husband Thomas A. Morgan in eternity. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be carried on by those who knew her best. Edith is survived by her cherished daughter Tammy Morgan of Stinnett, KY; brother Eugene Napier & wife Ruth of Stinnett, KY; sisters Ethel Collett of Tazewell, TN and Louise Smith of Hyden, KY; grandchildren Adria Morgan, Madison Morgan, Daniel Morgan; great-grandchildren Miley Lewis and Greyson Lewis; along with a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Thomas A. Morgan, Edith is preceded in death by her son Marvin, daughter Rhonda, grandson Clinton Morgan; brothers Edgar, Howard, Curtis, Orville, Leonard & sister, Mae.
A Visitation will be held on Friday- April 12th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Stinnett Pentecostal Church followed by a Funeral Service on Saturday-April 13th at 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow in the Napier Family Cemetery at Essie (Bowens Creek), KY. The following will serve as Edith's pallbearers: Shane Helton, Christopher Helton, Bryan Collett, Nico Lewis and Darrell Helton. These services will be an opportunity for all who loved Edith to honor and celebrate her remarkable life.
Edith's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her warmth and compassion. May she rest in peace knowing that she made a meaningful impact during her time on Earth.
