Edna Wooton

Mrs. Edna Roark Wooton passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her residence in Hyden, Kentucky. She was 93 years old and born August 12th, 1928. She was the daughter of the late, Edison Roark and the late Martha Sparks Roark. By occupation Edna had worked as a secretary at West Area Elementary School. She was affiliated with the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church.  Edna enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing and camping. 

Edna was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edison and Martha Sparks Roark, husband, (Ret) Sergeant Major Tinsley Wooton, brothers, Earl and Lester Roark, special sister, Eunice Roark and treasured grand-daughter, Jennifer Lynn Fortney.  She leaves the following relatives surviving; cherished daughter, Diana Wooton Fortney and husband Fred of Hyden, Kentucky, brothers, Conley Roark and wife Mary Ann, Dwight Roark and Genelle and Wendell Roark and wife Joan, sisters, Malena Lunsford and husband Bill, Donna Broughton Meade and husband Michael, Lavonne Petry and husband Max and Sharon Alcorn and Donald, treasured grandson, Brandon Scott Fortney and treasured great grandchildren, McKenzie Allen and husband Brack of Fayetteville, NC, Preston Fortney, Bailey Fortney, Jemma Lewis and Jaydon Clark. Special friends Stacey Collett and Stephanie Combs who were so very dear to her.  She is also survived by a host of treasured nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Funeral: Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky

Minister: Pastor Robert Amundsen

Interment: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East, Hyden, Kentucky

Pallbearers: Brandon Fortney, Preston Fortney, Brack Allen, Rodney Stidham, Troy Stidham and Everett Bradley

Visitation: Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
