THE OBITUARY OF MR. EDWARD "ED" BAILEY

      Mr. Edward "Ed" Bailey born April 2, 1961 departed this life on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center.  He was born at Hazard, Ky., the son of the late Bill Bailey and Judy Logan Bailey.  Edward had a very distinguished work career as a coal miner.  He worked for 32 years and retired from Teeco Coal Co.  Edward operated a continuous miner and was known affectionately by family and co-workers as the "Miner Man".  He was a devoted member of the Apple Orchard Church of Christ, Hyden, Ky.  Edward loved his church family and enjoyed attending church and worshiping with his fellow congregation.  Edward was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, birdwatching with his mother-in-law Helen and above all, he cherished time spent with his family.  Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Judy Logan Bailey, sister, Fearby Boggs, brothers, Boyd Bill Bailey, James Bailey & Eugene Bailey.  Mr. Edward Bailey leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving and devoted wife to whom he was united to marriage on November 7, 1981, Lesia Asher Bailey of Wooton, Ky., two cherished sons, Edward Logan Bailey of Florida, Ethan Scott Bailey of Wooton, Ky., one brother, Dan Bailey and Mable of Hazard, Ky., four sisters, Alpha Mays of Cumberland, Ky., Alma Suffaridge of Leatherwood, Ky., Thelma Campbell of Dephia, Ky., Ethel Turner of Leatherwood, Ky., four treasured grandchildren, Andrew Logan Bailey, Andrea Bailey, Hailey Bailey, Kailey Bailey and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
