Edward "Eddie" Thomas Pullins

COURTESY OBITUARY 

Edward “Eddie” Thomas Pullins, 86, husband of Hosea Lee Sparks Pullins, died on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Lexington, Kentucky at the University of Kentucky Medical Center surrounded by his beloved family after a short illness. 

Born on January 27, 1938 in Berea, Kentucky, he was the youngest son of the late Alva Thomas and Alma Rucker Pullins. Eddie retired from the Madison County school system, having dedicated 29 years to working as both an administrator and a teacher. He was also a part time instructor at Eastern Kentucky University, where he taught introductory education courses to future educators. He was a devoted member to the First Christian Church in Richmond, KY for over 50 years. He also enjoyed flying his plane and he was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. 

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Hosea Lee Pullins. He leaves behind one son, Alan Thomas Pullins, and daughter-in-law Randi Pullins of Lexington, KY. His cherished grandchildren are Brady Thomas Pullins, Marlee Michele Pullins and Brody Alan Pullins. He is also remembered by his nephews, Jimmy (Anita) Pullins, Drew (Angela) Pullins, William (Kristy) Hounchell and Tyler Clark as well as his nieces, Lynn (Joe) Zieverink and Leanne (Donnie) Head. He was preceded in death by his older siblings, Jim (Charlene) Pullins, Patsy (William) Lethgo, and his niece Debbie (Milford) Hounchell. 

Funeral Services are set for 1:00PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Glenn Birkett, Bob Vickers and Patrick Messer will officiate the ceremony. Visitation will be the same day from 11:00AM to 1:00PM.

Following the service, Eddie will be laid to rest at the Berea Cemetery in Berea, KY. 

Pallbearers include Robert Wilson, Jerry Fritz, Kevin Cornelison, Doug West, Drew Pullins and Jimmy Pullins. Don Hale, Doug Hazelwood and Bud Cornelison will be honorary pallbearers.
