Elzie Wells

Mr. Elzie Wells, born June 4, 1937 in Leslie County, Kentucky, the son of the late, Matt J. Wells and the late, Betty Jane Shepherd Wells. He passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital, Hyden, Kentucky. He was 86 years old. Elzie was a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. Elzie was a devoted & faithful member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God. Elzie enjoyed his beekeeping, gardening & spending time with his family.

Elzie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, two cherished daughters, Kimberly Dunham and Iva Syar, six brothers & three sisters. He leaves the following relatives surviving; his loving & devoted wife, Virginia Roberts Wells, Stinnett, KY.. two cherished sons, Matthew Kenny Wells & Pam, VA and Ernest Dunham, FL., one cherished daughter, Jessie Roberts & Randy, Stinnett, KY., one brother, Harold Wells & Wilma, seven treasured grandchildren, Megan Adams & Rod, Casey Fields & Leshia, Justin Wells & Kristany, Dustin Wells & Meagan, Ryan Lowe, Kimberly Dunham and Deidra Syar, eleven treasured great grandchildren & a special niece, Barbara Collett. Also a host of other special nieces & nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, KY.

Ministers: Pastor Geoffery Roberts, Ralph Brown & James Bowling, Jr.

Interment: Charles Hacker Family Cemetery, (Little Stinnett Road), Stinnett, KY.

Pallbearers: Casey, Kenny, Dustin, Justin, Rod, Jackson and Kaysen

Honorary Pallbearers: Eugene Napier, Taylor Collett, Randy Roberts, Bob Jackson and Rick Roberts

Visitation: Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 12:00 Noon until time of service at the Church
