Ernest Howard

Mr. Ernest Howard passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital. He was 91 years old. Ernest was born February 13, 1931 at Asher, Kentucky the son of the late, Louis Howard and Emma Little Howard. He was a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation Ernest was a retired coal miner. He was affiliated with the Stinnett Church of Christ. Ernest enjoyed digging ginseng, squirrel hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Louis Howard & Emma Little Howard, loving and devoted wife, Sylvia Collett Howard, one cherished son, Clifford Howard, two brothers, Clell Howard and Harvey Howard & four sisters, Sadie, Elizabeth, Ada and Nancy. He leaves the following relatives surviving; three cherished sons, Bruce Howard & wife, Bonnie, Stinnett, Kentucky, Dale Howard & wife Sharon, Asher, Kentucky & Ernest Howard, Jr., Asher, Kentucky, two cherished daughters, Judy Simpson & husband, John, Asher, Kentucky & Susan Kinker & husband, David, Florida,  seven treasured grandchildren, Sheila Napier & Doug, Dale Chase Howard & Stephanie, Sabrina North, Amber Jordan & Shane, Amanda Caldwell, Jaxon Howard and Sylvia McKenzie Hagerty, six treasured great grandchildren, Braxton, Emily, Bradon, Alex, Kayden and Avery Raina, one treasured great great granddaughter, Wrenley Claire & a special friend, Jean Simpson. Also a host of treasured nieces & nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky

Ministers: John Pugh & Jerry Maggard

Interment: Mosley-Howard Family Cemetery, Asher, Kentucky

Visitation: Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
