Heather Cheryl Kilburn Wooton

Heather Cheryl Kilburn Wooton, age 54, of Wooton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 3, 2025. Born on August 23, 1970 in Salem, Indiana to Carolyn Kilburn and the late Charlie Kilburn, known for her big heart, her bold personality, and the way she could make anyone feel like family. To those who knew and loved her best, called her “Heckie.”

Heather had a carefree spirit that made her easy to love and hard to forget. She lived life on her own terms — with laughter in her voice, kindness in her heart, and never too much worry about the little things. She was deeply passionate about animals and had a natural way with children, showing up with open arms and endless love for both.

On June 15, 1989, she married Billy Monroe Wooton, and together they shared nearly three decades of love, laughter, and adventure.

Heather is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Monroe Wooton; her father, Charlie Kilburn.

She is survived by devoted mother, Carolyn Kilburn; her sisters, Tracy Estridge (Jim), Kimberly Napier (Shane) and Tiffany Hensley (Anthony); stepdaughter Christa Brock (Pete) and children, special sister in law Wanda Carol Adams (Doug), special nieces & nephews Rusty, Jace, Waylon, Jordyn, Chandler & Aniston and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She leaves behind her beloved dog, Ralphie, who was the center of her world, as well as any animal lucky enough to cross her path—each one held a special place in her heart

Heather “Heckie” Wooton was bold, spirited, and unforgettable. She laughed loudly, loved deeply, and lived freely. Though her time here feels far too short, her impact was lasting, and her spirit — full of warmth, fun, and fearless love — will never fade.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Visitation: Tues. April 8th at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel
