Mrs. Helen Ruth Ratliff Ford born March 15, 1947 departed this life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, Ky. She was 74 years old. Helen was born in Hyden, Ky. the daughter of the late Glen Ratliff and Mattie Cornett Ratliff. Helen received her BA in education from Cumberland College and a Master's Degree in Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. Helen was a retired psychologist, former accountant & flower & gift shop owner. Helen was a life -long resident of Leslie Co., with the exception of living in Cincinnati for a short period of time. She was an avid reader & enjoyed crafts, gardening & cooking. Helen's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Kerns C. Ford: cherished daughter, Candi Ratliff: half-brother, McKinley Riley, Jr.; half-sister, Elizabeth Riley Feltner & special companion and friend, Clay Morgan. Mrs. Helen Ruth Ratliff Ford leaves the following relatives surviving: two cherished sons, Kerns Glen Ford & Francesca of Lexington, Ky.; Jeremiah Ford & Elaina of Eubank, Ky.; four beloved step-sons, Kenneth Frank Ford of Pensacola, Florida; Richard Ford & Debbie of Tennessee; Mark Ford of Tennessee; Christopher Ford of Ohio; one beloved step-daughter, Patricia Wood of Pensacola, Florida; special friend, Lisa Morgan of Hyden, Ky.; treasured grandchildren, Brooke, Gabriel, Lily, Isaiah, Azriel, Wynter, Hunter & a host of treasured step-grandchildren & step - great grandchildren.
