Henderson Lee Lewis II, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at St. Joseph of London Hospital in London, Kentucky. Born on July 7, 1982 he was a cherished member of his family and community, remembered fondly for his warm spirit and dedication to those he loved.

Henderson dedicated much of his life to his career as a coal miner, having worked at Teco Coal Co. His commitment to his profession reflected his strong work ethic and perseverance, qualities that endeared him to his colleagues and friends.

In addition to his professional life, Henderson was known for his passion for the outdoors. He found joy in deer hunting, fishing, and ATV riding. Cooking out, especially barbecuing, was a beloved pastime for him, where he often gathered with family and friends to share meals and create memories. Henderson also expressed his artistic side through wood-working and drawing, showcasing his creativity and attention to detail. Above all, he treasured spending quality time with his family, providing them with love and support throughout his life.

Henderson leaves behind his beloved mother, Charlotte Hoskins, and three cherished daughters: Caleigh Haley, Jemma Cindy Breeze Lewis, and Bailey Fortney, one cherished son, Preston Fortney, one brother, Rev. Andy Lewis and Arlinda, as well as three sisters, Gwendolyn Miller and Jason,  Angela Lewis and Ginger Caldwell and Jerry. His memory will also be honored by his many nieces and nephews, including: Mary Grace Miller, Bradley Miller, Abby Miller, Andrea Finch, Brayden Spurlock, Gavin Spurlock, Aubreigh Spurlock, Andrew Lewis, Ashton Lewis, Charity Bowling, Christopher Bowling and Jaxxon Manning, along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Henderson Lee Lewis Sr., and his paternal grandparents, Logan and Bertha Lewis, as well as his maternal grandparents, John R. and Grace Hoskins. Henderson's life was marked by love and devotion and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Funeral: Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Interment: John R. Hoskins Memorial Cemetery, Asher, KY
