James David Lewis

James David Lewis  born February 9, 1965 departed this life on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. He was 57 years old.  David was born at Hazard, Ky., the son of John L. Lewis and the late Janice Maggard. David was a veteran of the armed forces, having served honorably in the United States Navy.  He was a former coal miner and a life-long resident of Leslie Co.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Mr. James David Lewis was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Maggard, step-mother, Betty Vernon Lewis and brother, Jerry Wegford.  Mr. James David Lewis leaves the following relatives surviving: beloved father, John L. Lewis of Smilax, Ky., one cherished daughter, Courtney Lewis of London, Ky., two treasured brothers, Johnny Allen Lewis of Smilax, Ky., Jody Keith Lewis of Mozelle, Ky., two treasured sisters, Diane Lewis of Wooton, Ky., Rachel Pennington and Burchel Pennington, Jr. of Smilax, Ky,.one special nephew, Greg Sizemore and Megan of Smilax, Ky., & a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
