Jewel Stidham, born on January 6, 1939, in Hyden, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on December 22, 2024, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky at the age of 85. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother whose family and faith were her valued priorities.  Jewel had been a faithful member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ for 73 years.

Throughout her life, Jewel showcased her deep commitment to her family and held great pride in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her relationships with her children and grandchildren were especially cherished, and she created lasting memories with each one of them. Jewel's legacy is one filled with warmth, love, and a sense of gratitude for her family, embodying a humility that was evident to all who knew her.

Jewel was not only a dedicated family member but also an exceptionally talented individual. She had a passion for crafts and woodworking, and her artistic nature brought joy to her life and the lives of her family. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, she was a source of comfort and sustenance, gathering loved ones around her table.  

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Teresa Asher and her husband Dale of Hyden, KY, Sonya Stidham of Hyden, KY, and Robin Gambill and her husband David of Hyden, KY. Jewel is also survived by her brother Vernon Bowling and his wife Christine of Connersville, Indiana, sister Shirley Hunt and her husband Bob of Connersville, Indiana, sister Debbie Abernathy of Middletown, Ohio, and sister Glenna Stidham and her husband Lloyd of Manchester, KY. Seven treasured grandchildren, Kristy Madden & husband, Jason, Shanna Sizemore and husband, Paul, Sheena Caldwell, Shane Collett and wife, Karen, Rachel Joseph, Loryn Paige Napier and husband, Stewart, Dayton Gambill, eleven treasured, great grandchildren, two treasured, step great grandchildren , two treasured great, great grandchildren, & a host of cherish nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Jewel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lenuel Stidham, and her parents, Ott and Rachel Bowling. She was also mourned by her siblings, including brothers Ted, Roy, Vance, and Marshall Bowling, as well as sister Frances Lewis.

A funeral service to honor Jewel Bowling Stidham will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on  Friday -December 27, 2024, at Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, located at 155 Hickory Street, Hyden, KY., with Roger Bowling officiating.  Friends may call for visitation from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. The interment will follow the service in the Grassy Gap Cemetery located at Hyden, KY.  The following will serve as pallbearers, Dayton Gambill, Shane Collett, Morgan Stamper, Dalton Stamper, Austin Stamper & Dawson Baker.  Tristan Feltner will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Jewel Stidham leaves behind a profound impact through her unwavering love and dedication to her family, as well as her artistic spirit that touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
