     Mr. Johnny Edgar "Edd" Melton born October 31, 1943 departed this life on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Advent Health, Manchester Ky.  He was 79 years old.  Edd was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Manuel Melton and June Hensley Melton.  Edd was a retired truck driver and member of the Church of Christ.  He was an avid listener of bluegrass music and attended many  bluegrass music festivals. He  also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.  Edd was a very caring and loving individual who treasured the time he spent will family.  He was an animal lover who adored his dog, Roxie.  Edd was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and June Hensley Melton, infant sister, Betty, brothers, Sonny, Larry, Ronnie & Ricky Melton, sisters, Mildred Bowling, Deborah Pratt, granddaughters, Brittany Melton, Samantha Bowling and step-son, Carl Bowling.  Mr. Edd Melton leaves the following relatives surviving, his loving and devoted wife., Sue H. Melton of Manchester, Ky., two cherished daughters, Edna Lewis and husband, Anthony of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jewell Fugate and Earl Philpot of London, Ky., beloved step daughters, Arey Smith and Tony of London, Ky.., Annetta Lucas of Big Creek, Ky., Lexus Bowling of Big Creek, Ky., Whitney Bowling, cherished step sons, Jim Norman and wife, Sharon of McKinney, Ky., Willie Bowling and George Bowling of Big Creek Ky., Galen Bowling of London, Ky., brothers, Donnie Melton and Sandra of Smilax, Ky., Glenn Melton and wife, Linda of Sizerock, Ky., sister, Purdy Stewart and Reed of Letcher Co., Ky.,  friend and caretaker, Sharon Hatfield, 18 treasured grandchildren, 15 treasured great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
