John Bart Sizemore, known affectionately as JB. Born on June 25, 1940, in Stinnett, KY. John’s journey ended peacefully on March 25, 2024, at the Hyden Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Hyden, KY. He was 83 years old.
He served his country honorably as a United States Army Veteran. He worked at Chrysler Motor Company in Ohio for many years. Had several careers in his lifetime as a business owner, local popular DJ and EMT. He was a dedicated long-haul truck driver for 40 years and garnered the prestigious exemplary award for 40 years of accident-free safe driving.
John also found joy in fishing, vintage cars, spending time with family and was a prolific reader.
John was preceded in death by his loving parents Robert Sizemore and Beulah Baker Sizemore. He is survived by the love of his life and companion of 29 years, Eva Ruth Wooton Morgan of Hyden, KY. Also cherishing his memory are his surviving family members: One daughter, Shelley Maier & Tom Hobbs of Lakeview, OH; four brothers: Larry Sizemore of Stinnett, KY; Roger Sizemore & Ginger of Eubank, KY; Kathy Dick & Joey of Somerset, KY; Bobby Sizemore of Somerset, KY; Brett Sizemore & Tammy of Somerset, KY and one step-son, Stephen Morgan & Liz of Louisville, KY; step-grand daughter, January Ellen; one treasured grandson Jarrett Maier & Yiselle, and one great-grandchild: Aria Raelyn. Also, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews to carry on his memory.
The services to honor John Bart Sizemore’s life will be held at Walker Funeral Home in Hyden. A visitation is scheduled from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on March 29th followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM on the same day. Officiating will be Robbie Horton and the interment will follow in the Brett Baker Cemetery located at Stinnett, KY with full Military Rites by the Leslie County D.A.V Chapter #133 will be observed.
