Kathleen Caldwell

   Kathleen Caldwell, age 73, of Brookville, Indiana died early Tuesday morning May 14, 2019 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, Indiana.

          Born August 1, 1945 in Hyden, Kentucky she was one of twelve children born to the late Mitchell & Hallie (Osborne) Sizemore.  On June 24, 1963 she was united in marriage to Homer “Shorty” Caldwell, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2000.

          A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking & quilting, but her greatest joy was babysitting her grandchildren.

          Survivors include three children, Harlan Caldwell of Bright, Indiana, Sam Caldwell of Laurel, Indiana and Hallie Sue Kersey of Brookville, Indiana; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Jean Gibson of Brookville, Indiana, Laura M. Collins of Hyden, Kentucky, Essie Jones of Bear Branch, Kentucky, Louise Barrett of Brookville, Indiana, Drucie Davidson of New Trenton, Indiana and Sarah Jane Stidham of Bear Branch, Kentucky, three brothers Willie Sizemore and Lee Carson Sizemore both of Bear Branch, Kentucky and Robert W. Sizemore of Somerset, Kentucky, as well as many nieces & nephews.

          In addition to her parents and husband, Homer “Shorty” Caldwell, she was preceded in death by a brother Donald Sizemore, and a grandson, Joe Connel.

          Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Caldwell Family Homestead, 507 Laurel Creek Road, Chappell, Kentucky.

          Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky; with burial following in the Caldwell Family Cemetery in Harlan County, Kentucky. Officiating Minister will be Andy Lewis

          Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion or the Wilbur Dennison Post #2014 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brookville.
