Lula Wells McFarland of Williamsburg, KY, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 16, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Wooton, KY, to the late Lue and Maudie Jane Wells on June 16, 1929. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vester Lee McFarland, and one son, Freddie Lue McFarland.

She is survived by her children: Maudie Jean Thomas (late Lowell) of Wooton, KY, Alice Lee Perry (late Josh Henry), of Williamsburg, KY, Samuel McFarland (Carolyn) of Williamsburg, KY, Estill McFarland (Pauline) of Williamsburg, KY, Martha Faye Jones of Williamsburg, KY, Imalene Smith (Gary) of London, KY, Burley McFarland (Teresa) of Williamsburg, KY, Pamela Jane Faulkner (late James) of Williamsburg, KY, and Donna Kay Grubb (Roy) of London, KY. Two Step Daughters: Ruth Edna George of Maryville, TN, and Viola Thompson of Beattyville, KY. She is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 94 great grandchildren, and 43 great great grandchildren.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother to all her loved ones. She lived her life for the Lord and her family. She spent her days singing and drawing. Lula was a homemaker where she enjoyed cooking, raising vegetables, and raising animals on the farm.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bennie Bush officiating. Interment will be in Jellico Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Derrick McFarland, Jared Jones, Travis Grubb, Tyler Smith, Estil McFarland, Jeremy Rains, and Justin Rains.

Jonathan Jones will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
