Mallie Maggard

Mrs. Mallie Baker Maggard of Wooton, KY., cherished wife of retired military veteran, James Maggard, departed this life at her residence Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the age of 77 years. Mallie always was very supportive of James & honored to be his wife during his distinguished military career. Mallie was born at Wooton, KY on June 17, 1942 the daughter of the late Adam Baker and the late Cody Howard Baker.   Mallie was a homemaker and had been a resident of  Leslie County for the past 42 years after James retired from the military. She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and playing bingo, however her greatest joy came from cooking for her family and spending time with them. Mallie was affiliated with the Solid Rock Bible Church at Wooton, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents: Adam & Cody Baker and a host of brothers and sisters. She leaves surviving the following relatives, her loving and devoted husband: James Maggard of Wooton, Ky, one loving son: James Maggard, Jr.  & Christie of Wooton, KY, one devoted daughter: Brenda Maggard Gillison & Gary James Gillison of Wooton, Ky, four sisters: Stephanie Adams of Hyden, KY, Virginia Shepherd of Corbin, KY, Wanda Faye Maggard of Yeaddiss, KY , Mildred Ritchie of Hazard, KY, six treasured grandchildren: Melissa Gillison, Michelle Gillison, Brittany Maggard-Mobley, Briana Maggard, Tiffany Lowe, Crystal Day, 11 treasured great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 P.M.- Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, KY.

VISITATION: 6:00 p.m. - Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the funeral home.
