Melvin Campbell

Mr. Melvin Campbell of Busy, passed away at his residence, Wednesday, August 5, 2020. He was 86 years old.  Melvin was born December 20, 1933 at Busy, KY., the son of the late, John Campbell & Sarah Wooton Campbell. He had been a life-long resident of Busy, KY. Melvin was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. By occupation he was a retired Welding Instructor for the Hazard Vocational & Technical School. He was a member of the Confluence Baptist Church at Confluence, KY. He was also a member of the Krypton Masonic Lodge #905 & American Legion. Melvin enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, deer hunting, horseback riding, gardening & especially time with his family & their dinners.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert Melvin Campbell, one daughter, Kathy Campbell Bowling, 8 brothers & 5 sisters. He is survived by his loving & devoted wife of 65 years, Shirley Reedy Campbell, Busy, KY., one beloved son, Michael Campbell & Bettina, Busy, KY., two beloved daughters, Phyllis Campbell Burcham & James, Busy, KY. & Sarah Campbell Napier & Jackie, Busy, KY., son-in-law, Calloway Bowling, one sister, Christine Bowling, IN., 11 treasured grandchildren, 16 treasured great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral: Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Confluence Baptist Church, Busy, KY.

Minister: Rev. Henry Clay Robertson

Interment: Campbell Family Cemetery, Busy, KY.

Pallbearers: Preston Riley, Doyle Howard, Matthew Howard, Robert Couch & Jr. Begley

Visitation: Friday, August 7, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY. & Saturday, August 8th at 12:00 until time of service at the Church
