Mrs. Bula Burton Morris, born on April 2, 1936, in Hyden, Kentucky, gracefully transitioned from this life on January 20, 2025, at her residence. She was 88 years old. A respected retired bank teller, Bula dedicated her professional life to serving her community with integrity and warmth.
Bula’s legacy is deeply rooted in her family. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Arnold Wayne “Gator” Morris and Eddie “Gander” Morris; three daughters, Nora (Turtle) Marshall (Stephen), Sara Brigit Morris, and Terry Hope (Thomas); and her cherished brother, Estil “Pig Man” Burton. In addition to her immediate family, Bula leaves behind three sisters, Emma Hamilton, Edna Pearl Burton, and Betty Wilson. She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and had a host of great and great-great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. Inclusive of her large and loving family are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Bula was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Matt Morris and parents Gran Burton and Bessie Bowling Burton. She was also welcomed into the eternal embrace of her siblings, Bobby Burton, Raymond Burton, Eula Burton Wesley, and Sharon Burton Begley.
Her family and friends will forever remember Bula for her indomitable spirit, kindness, and the warmth she brought into their lives. She will be greatly missed but always remembered with love and admiration.
