Mrs. Zona Mae Osborne Turner, a beloved member of her community, was born on January 12, 1953, in Leslie County, Kentucky. She passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 72 years old.
Zona dedicated numerous years of her life to her career at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in the housekeeping department, embodying a spirit of service and care that extended beyond her professional commitments into her personal life. She was deeply passionate about nurturing her family, spending cherished moments with her two sons, Mitchell and Billy Turner, as well as her five treasured grandchildren: Riley, Logan, Noah, Greyson, and Alexa.
Her interests painted a vivid picture of a life lived fully; she took joy in several hobbies that included gardening, canning, quilting, and crocheting. Zona's hands were always busy, whether tending to her garden or creating beautiful quilts and crocheted items, all while intertwining love and affection into everything she created. She found immense happiness in working and cleaning, but her greatest joy came from gathering with family and sharing moments filled with laughter and love.
Zona is survived by her two sons, Mitchell Turner and Billy Turner, along with her brother, Roger Osborne. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will carry forth her legacy of warmth and devotion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelvie Osborne and Georgia Jones Osborne, her husband, Robert Turner, and her siblings: Jocelyn Osborne Elam, Merle Osborne, R.B. Osborne, Delbert Osborne, and Billy Joe Osborne. Each of these individuals held a special place in Zona's heart, and her memory will continue to resonate in their lives.
Mrs. Zona Mae Osborne Turner will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her gentle spirit. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion.
