Myrtle Day Fouts

Mrs. Myrtle Day Fouts born January 4, 1927 passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at her residence. She was 95 years old.  Myrtle was born in (Polls Creek) Smilax, Ky., the daughter of the late Monroe Day and Malinda Lewis Day.  Myrtle was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.  She was a member of the Church of Lord Jesus Christ at Long Branch.  She enjoyed yard work, gardening, fishing, traveling, riding horses, attending horse shows & riding back on the mountain to look at the horses.  Myrtle's greatest joy came from spending time with her family.  Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Johnny Fouts, her parents, three beloved children, Johnny Fouts, Jr., Taylor Fouts & Martha Roberts, treasured grandson, Bill Monroe Cornett, son-in-law, Ronnie Cornett, five brothers, Arnold Day, Dexter Day, Earnest Day, Lloyd Day & Paul Day, two sisters, Sophia Coots & her husband, Bige & Bonnie Jean Maggard & her husband, Don, daughters-in-law, Kathleen Fouts & Juldene Fouts & sister-in-law, Bessie Day.

Mrs. Myrtle Day Fouts leaves the following relatives surviving, three cherished sons, Russell Fouts of Smilax, Ky. Ellis Fouts and Goldie of Hyden, Ky. & Willis Fouts and Karen of Wooton, Ky., two cherished daughters, Linda Cornett of Keavy, Ky. & Louise Coots of Smilax, Ky., two sisters, Lillian Joseph of Trenton, Ohio & Lois Ann Hensley of Smilax, Ky., son-in-law, Clayton Roberts, three sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Day, Marie Day & Erma Day, 21 treasured grandchildren, 47 treasured great-grandchildren and 8 treasured great-great grandchildren & a special friend, Garfield Farley.
