Nancy Asher born on March 1, 1943, in Essie, Kentucky, passed away on October 30, 2024, at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, Kentucky. She was a cherished member of her community and a beloved matriarch in her family.
Nancy was a remarkable individual whose passions were reflected in her love for art, specifically painting and quilting. Her artistic talents brought joy not only to herself but also to those around her, as she shared her creations with family and friends. Additionally, Nancy was known for her dedication as a caregiver, a role she embraced wholeheartedly, ensuring that loved ones were cared for with compassion and kindness.
She is survived by her one son, Hobert Inness Asher and Amanda of Berea, KY., one daughter, Rosalind Gowen and James of Michigan. Nancy also leaves behind one brother Waldon Asher of Asher, Ky. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, all of whom will carry her spirit and memory forward. Nancy is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Hobert Asher and Sophia Collett Asher, as well as her brothers Beldon, Willis, Charles Edward, Ralph & Robert, and her sister Lucy. While they will be deeply missed, their memories live on through the stories and the love shared within the family.
Nancy Jean Asher will be remembered not only for her artistic contributions and caregiving spirit but also for her unwavering love for her family. Her impact on their lives and the lives of those in her circle will be felt for generations to come.
