The Obituary of Mr. OB Begley
Mr. OB Begley born November 14, 1949 departed this life on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky. He was 70 years old. OB was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Clay Begley & Alice Mollett. OB served honorably in the US Army & was a veteran of the Vietnam War. OB was a resident of Illinois for a short period of time after his discharge from the military & then moved back to Hyden where he had lived since. He was a retired home improvement small business owner. He did carpentry, painting, woodworking & was especially skilled at restoring antiques. OB was of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, watching the evening news & Judge Judy, listening to the Trading Post on WKIC, gardening, collecting antiques, and was very compassionate to all animals especially his cat Tom & dog, Penny. OB was preceded in death by his parents, beloved brothers; Bobby Begley, Alvin Begley, sisters; Elspeth Begley & Joan Begley. Mr. OB Begley leaves the following relatives surviving; three cherished sons; Nicholas Begley & wife, Courtney of Hyden, Ky., Daniel Begley of Hyden, Ky., David Begley of Lexington, Ky., one treasured daughter; Lucinda Begley- Ehlen of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, two beloved brothers; Golia Begley & wife, Reggie of Oklahoma, Ayers Begley of Hyden, Ky., one beloved sister; Leva Pennington & husband, James of Tennessee. His cherished grandchildren: Tyler James Ehlen, Colton Clay Begley and Preston Lucas Begley. O.B. is also survived by his dog "Penny" and his cat "Tom." The following will serve as pallbearers: Nicholas Begley, Daniel Begley, Jeff Begley, Lindon Walker, Darren Begley & Chris Gibson. In accordance with the regulations concerning the Covid-19 mandated by Gov. Beshear & the Ky. Funeral Directors Association the funeral service will be private & for immediate family only. A memorial service with full military rites will be conducted at a later date at the discretion of the family.
