Patsy Holland, age 71, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted servant of the Lord, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, October 5, 2024, leaving a legacy of faith and love that will be cherished forever. She was the loving and devoted wife to Rev. Jerry Holland for 54 beautiful years. Their love story began when she first caught his eye at the tender age of 12. Together, they built a life founded on faith, family, and service. For 43 of those years, Patsy proudly stood by her husband's side as a preacher’s wife, and later as a pastor’s wife, faithfully supporting his ministry with grace and unwavering devotion. She was not only a preacher’s wife but a mother of the church and a cherished sister in the faith. A dedicated member of the East London Holiness Church from its inception, Patsy played a significant role in shaping its foundation. She shared her wisdom with young women, teaching them modesty, humility, and how to walk closely with the Lord. Her life was a powerful testimony, and she was a prayer warrior and a prophet, tirelessly advocating for the advancement of the Kingdom of Heaven.Patsy was immensely proud of her two children. Her son, Rev. Jerry McKinley Holland, followed in his Daddy’s footsteps, becoming a pastor and singer; and her daughter, Patty Lynn Bolinger, a singer, uses her voice to worship and inspire. She cherished their abilities and their hearts for service to the Lord. Her love for her family was boundless, always offering comfort, prayer, and support—day or night. Family was everything to Patsy. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, and spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy. She loved attending church, singing hymns, and reading her Bible. Christmas was her favorite season—she was a big fan of the holiday, planning early and decorating with joy. The church Christmas play was one of her yearly highlights. Beyond her spiritual devotion, Patsy had a love for simple pleasures. She enjoyed thrifting at yard sales, finding treasures in the early mornings after scanning the newspaper ads. Riding side-by-side with her husband through the trails of Leslie County and stopping for a Hunts Brothers Pizza was one of her favorite pastimes.Patsy leaves behind her loving husband, Rev. Jerry Holland; two children, Patty Lynn Bolinger & husband Jamie, Rev. Jerry McKinley Holland & wife Angela, all of London, KY; her sister, Karen Wagers & husband James of London, KY; four grandchildren, Lexie Bolinger, Colton Holland, Ford Holland, Oakleigh Napier (like a grandchild); her nephew, James Kendall Wagers; a special aunt, Romaine Marcum; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estil (Red) Marcum & Ethel Bush Marcum. To her family, take these words of reassurance. To Jerry, “Always remember, I love you too.” To her daughter Patty, “I love you so much, so much.” To her son McKinley, “Mommy loves you forever.” To her grandchildren, “Don’t forget Mamaw, and she’ll always love you. And remember Mamaw’s popsicles.” And to Jamie and Angie, “I love you all very much.” To all my family, “Pray and endure to the end, and we’ll all be together again.”Patsy’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family and church will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the life of service she lived, grounded in love for God and those around her.
