Pearl Short, Jr.

Pearl Short, Jr. was born June 7, 1944 at Saylor, Kentucky the son of the late, Pearl Short, Sr. and the late Hazel Caldwell Short. He passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at his residence at Warbranch, Kentucky. Pearl was 80 years old. Pearl had been a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a retired Environmentalist working in Reclamation. Pearl was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and being outdoors.

Pearl was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Pearl Short, Sr. and Hazel Caldwell Short and siblings, Matilda Becnell, Wright Short, Nannie Mae Brock and Connie Whitehead.

 He leaves the following relatives surviving; two cherished sons, Jeff Short and Andy of Athens, TN. and Kevin Short and Morgan of Merritt Island, FL., wife, life-long companion, friend and mother of his children, Stella Brock Short of Warbranch, KY., three brothers, Floyd Short of Cumberland, KY., Graylon Short & Mary of Mozelle, KY. &  Everett Short & Kaye of Amarillo, TX., four sisters, Mary Brock, Helton, KY., Delores Bullins of Indianapolis, IN., Ruthie Short of Tazewell, TN. & Nena Short of Knoxville, TN. and three treasured grandchildren, Emma Kay Maxberry, Braxton Short & Colson Short. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Memorial Service: Monday, June 17, 2024 from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky
