Phyllis Ann Melton Shepherd

Mrs. Phyllis Ann Melton Shepherd, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. She was 61 years old. Phyllis was born, August 17, 1960 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late, Elbert Melton and Andrea Kilburn Melton. She had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation Phyllis was a licensed practical nurse. Phyllis was a member of the Wooton Presbyterian Church-EPC, Wooton, KY. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, flower gardening and especially loved spending time with her family.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elbert and Andrea Kilburn Melton, one special brother, Elbert Melton, Jr., maternal grandmother, Eliza Kilburn, special nephew, Jordon Melton, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Oma Baker Shepherd and Kelly Shepherd and special brother-in-law, Darrell Caudill. She leaves the following relatives surviving; loving and devoted husband, Fred Shepherd, Wooton, KY, two cherished sons, Bryan Johnson and Katie, Essie, KY and Adrian Shepherd and Amber, Hindman, KY, three cherished daughters, Brittany Maggard and Rocky, Wooton, KY, Megan Barger and Sam, Wooton, KY and Crystal Evans and Scott, Hindman, KY, four special brothers, Mike Melton and Jean, Wooton, KY, Doug Melton and Betty, Wooton, KY, Carter Melton and Samantha, Wooton, KY and Randy Melton and Karri, Wooton, KY, one special sister, Shannon Caudill, Wooton, KY, two special sisters-in-law, Irene Kilburn and Geneva Shepherd, two special brothers-in-law, Jimmy Shepherd and Dennis Shepherd, nine treasured grandchildren, Kayleigh Lewis, Kennady Maggard, Aubrey Maggard, Reed Barger, Luke Barger, Bo Johnson, Aidan Shepherd, Wiley Evans and Lincoln Evans, special nieces, Kourtney Duff and Marc and Felicia Woods and Byron and special nephews, Tanner Melton and Cody Melton. Also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral: Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY
