Ruth Bailey Holland

Mrs. Ruth Bailey Holland, a devoted cook and housekeeper at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center, was born on December 4, 1951, in Roark, Kentucky. She passed away on December 28, 2024, at the Well's Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that touched the lives of many.

Ruth was a woman of great resilience and heart. Her years spent at Hyden Health & Rehab Center were marked by her unwavering dedication to caring for others, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Outside of her work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Ruth cherished the moments spent conversing with friends over the phone and keeping in touch through Facebook on her iPad. Her greatest delight, however, came from the time spent with her cherished grandchildren, with whom she created countless memories.

Ruth's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Kimberly Faye Asher, and her husband, Jerry, of Roark, KY. She was a proud grandmother to her treasured grandson, Byron Holland, and wife, Latrisha, as well as her three beloved great grandchildren, Leah, Joah, and Isla. Ruth was deeply connected to her brothers, Dale Bailey and his wife, Lisa, of Essie, KY, and David Bailey and his wife, Loraine, of Roark, KY. She also held a special bond with her sister-in-law, Lisa Bailey, her special cousin, Margaret Jean, and her dear friend, Debbie Holland. A host of cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive, all of whom will remember Ruth for her kindness and loving spirit.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Opal Collett Bailey, her loving and devoted husband, Isaac Holland, and her infant brother, Jack Bailey.

Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Ruth Holland will be missed dearly, but her spirit will remain a shining light in the lives of her family and friends.

Funeral: Friday, January 3, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Roark Pentecostal Church at Roark, KY
