Sandra Kay Lewis

Sandra Kay Lewis born September 13, 1954 departed this life on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the the Well's Hospice Center. Hazard, Ky. She was 67 years old.  Sandra was born at Hazard, Ky., the daughter of the late Willie Lewis and Linda Sizemore.  Sandra received her BA and Rank I teaching certification from Union College.  Sandra had a distinguished career as an educator.  She retired with 32 years of dedicated service as an elementary teacher at Hayes Lewis Elementary School. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teacher's Association.  Sandra was an avid gardener and yard landscaper.  She enjoyed yard work and quilting.  Sandra's greatest joy came from being involved in the lives of her treasured nieces and nephews. Miss Sandra Kay Lewis was preceded in death by her beloved parents, one cherished brother, William Douglas Lewis, two cherished sisters, Charlotte Lewis and Patricia G. Lewis, brothers-in-law, Delbert Lankford, Denver Colwell and nephew, Dwight Lankford.   Miss Sandra Kay Lewis leaves the following relatives surviving: two cherished sisters, Loretta Lankford of Louisville, Ky., Kathy Colwell of Smilax, Ky., treasured nieces and nephews, Jason Lankford, Kyle Lankford, Jarod Colwell, Jocelyn White and Russell, special great nieces and nephews, Emily White, Cole White, Lainey White & Taylor Colwell, along with a host of other great nieces and nephews.  You may send your condolences to the family @dwaynewalkerfuneralhome.com
