Sandra Ann Deaton, otherwise known as Sandy Deaton (you were in trouble if you called her by her birth name), was born on February 14, 1961. Her 62-year journey ended on Monday, July 3, 2023. Sandy was born in Covington, KY., the daughter of the late Doug “Duck” Deaton and Mary Deaton. Sandy retired from the Board of Education from doing what she loved and helping children. During her retired years she surrounded herself with the things she enjoyed most. She has lived many lives through the power of books and stories. She spent time growing the most beautiful flowers and tasty garden foods. She would sew beautiful pieces to pass time. When something was on her mind, she created masterpieces of delicious baked goods. If you mentioned that you were hungry around her she would whip up a four-course meal (food was her love language). But above all else, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.
Sandy Deaton leaves the following relatives surviving; her loving and devoted husband, James Walker of Busy, KY., one daughter, Tessa Pace and Derik Davidson of Stinnett, KY., one unbiological daughter, Keshia Hoskins-Lawless and husband Jed Lawless of Russell Springs, KY., one sister, Theresa Adams and husband David Adams of Hyden, KY., one very treasured granddaughter, Chloe Ballard, life long friend, Faye Nantz of Barbourville, KY, two very special girls, Kara Pace and Ryleigh Pace of Stinnett, KY, two very special friends, Eddie Pace and Candice Pace of Stinnett, KY, and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
