Wilma Jean Couch, a beloved figure in the community of Hyden, Kentucky, passed away at Lake Cumberland Medical Center in Somerset, KY. at the age of 72. She was born on March 11, 1952, in Hyden, KY., the daughter of the late Jim Jones & Martha Gibson,where she spent her fulfilling life creating lasting memories and touching the hearts of many.
Wilma's career was marked by dedication and passion. With a background at the Appalachia Motel and the Hair & Tanning Palace in Hyden, KY, she made a significant impact through her exceptional cooking skills, talent as a beautician, and creativity as a florist. Her clients were not just clients but individuals with whom she built personal relationships. Wilma's warmth and outgoing personality shone through in every interaction, making her a cherished member of the community. Wilma was a member of the Couch's Fork Church of God, Bear Branch, KY., where she had attended since her youth.
Aside from her professional accomplishments, Wilma excelled in her role as a mother and grandmother. Being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren brought her immense joy. Her family meant everything to her, and she found great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for them.
In addition to her successful career and loving family life, Wilma was known for her artistic flair and creativity. Whether it was crafting, flower arranging, interior decorating, or tending to her gardens, she found solace and joy in these activities. Her talent extended to playing the piano and mastering the art of cooking.

Wilma Jean Couch will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Friends may call for visitation for Wilma Jean Couch beginning Thursday - March 21st - at 6:00 P.M.. continuing Friday, March 22, 2024 followed by the funeral service on Saturday -March 23rd 1:00 PM all at the Couch's Fork Church of God, Bear Branch, KY., with Ryan Osborne, John Romer, Russell Jimenez & Joey Burns officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service at the Robert Lee Jones Cemetery (Ulysses Creek Rd.) Bear Branch, KY The following will serve as pallbearers, Justin Barger, Jordan Collins, Ramon Couch, Robert Lee Jones II, Peyton Collins, Archie Collins, Jamie Barger & Dana Fuller.
